Salary: $21.00 per hour–The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.
Vacation: 4 % of the gross salary
Hours of Work: 32-40 hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting orthopedic physicians during patient examinations and procedures, providing assistance with medical instruments, and preparing treatment rooms.
  • Providing patients with information about their conditions, treatment options, and post-care instructions as directed by physicians.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient communication, including medical histories, examination findings, and treatment plans.
  • Following proper protocols for sterilizing medical instruments, maintaining cleanliness in treatment areas, and adhering to infection control guidelines.
  • Providing compassionate care and support to patients during their clinic visits, addressing their concerns, and facilitating a positive patient experience.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals within the clinic to ensure coordinated patient care and effective communication between team members.
  • Managing appointments, coordinating schedules with physicians, and ensuring efficient use of clinic resources.

Job Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is required. College level diploma in medical administration or related would be considered as an asset.
  • Previous experience of 6-12 months in a medical clinic setting is required.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Familiarity with orthopedic procedures, treatments, and equipment preferred.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and common orthopedic conditions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for interacting with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals effectively.
  • A friendly and professional demeanor.
