| Salary: | $34.50 per hour–The gross salary paid is subject to all applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions. |
| Other benefits: | Optional Group insurance benefits including medical, dental and eye care coverage on a cost sharing basis would be offered upon completion of three months of employment period with the organization |
| Vacation: | 4% of the gross salary |
| Hours of Work: | 30-35 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week |
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
- Creating detailed designs for pool covers, taking into account the specific requirements of each project. This involves understanding the dimensions and shape of the pool, as well as any unique features or customer preferences.
- Using software like AutoCAD to create precise and accurate drawings and blueprints of pool covers. This includes 2D and 3D modeling to visualize the final product.
- Collaborating with the materials procurement team to select the appropriate materials for pool covers.
- Developing cost estimates and budgets for pool cover projects. This involves calculating material costs, labor costs, and any other expenses associated with the project.
- Working closely with other departments, such as production, quality control, and sales, to ensure that the design specifications are accurately communicated and implemented.
- Maintaining detailed records of design specifications, drawings, and project documentation for reference and future use.
- Provide design support to the construction teams as requested with drawings and codes
Desired skills and requirements
- Minimum one-year experience in design and drafting roles, preferably in a manufacturing or construction-related industry.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, with experience in programs AutoCAD 2D & 3D modeling.
- Certification in a related engineering design software or drafting technology an asset
- College level diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting and Design Technology, or a similar discipline is required.
- Team oriented individual with demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and self-directed.
