| Salary: | $36.00 per hour; The gross salary paid is subject to all applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions such as EI and CPP. |
| Vacation: | 4% of the gross salary |
| Hours of Work: | 30-40 hours a week. Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week |
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine specifications and layout for cabinets.
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using measuring tools and layout instruments.
- Set up and operate woodworking machines like table saws, jointers, planers, shapers to cut, shape, and form wood and wood substitutes.
- Assemble and join cabinet parts using fasteners, adhesives, and clamps to build complete units.
- Fit and install hardware components such as hinges, drawer slides, and handles.
- Sand wooden surfaces using hand or power tools; apply veneers, stains, or protective finishes as required.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure precision, fit, and finish according to project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace and perform routine maintenance on woodworking tools and equipment.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum 7-12 months of experience as a Cabinetmaker is required.
- Must have experience working with power saws, jointers and shapers.
- Completion of secondary school is required
- Team oriented individual with demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and self-directed.
- Weight handling up to 50 lbs
