Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
- Responsible for identifying, sourcing and recruiting qualified company drivers and owner-operators for local and long-distance positions.
- Collect applications and conduct initial phase of an interview before recommending the selected candidates for road testing.
- Working closely with the operations team and the safety/compliance department.
- Effectively source and recruit applicants to generate large and qualified pool.
- Check references, background and utilize database of candidates to call and qualify applicants.
- Advise job applicants on employment requirements and on terms and conditions of the employment
- Perform various administrative tasks that support the recruitment function.
- Perform support work with regards to employee relations initiatives and payroll processing.
- Maintain current data base of offer letters, independent contractor agreements, and timely updated CVOR copies for the drivers.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum one-year experience in the human resource sector/personnel administration is required.
- A college diploma in a field such as business administration, human resource management or equivalent work experience is required.
- Possess an understanding and working knowledge of MS Office suite to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
